Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Enchanted Rock is a massive pink granite dome rising about 425 feet above the surrounding Hill Country north of Fredericksburg. The Summit Trail is short but steep, and Echo Canyon and the Loop Trail circle the base past smaller domes and vernal pools.

It's an International Dark Sky Park, so the walk-in and primitive sites are as much about the night sky as the rock. Timed-entry reservations are required on busy days.
