About the Park
Mother Neff was the first official state park in Texas, started with land donated by Isabella Neff along the Leon River near Moody. Civilian Conservation Corps crews built the stone tower, the tabernacle, and the rock cabin that still anchor the park.
Trails link the river bottomland with the Wash Pond, a small cave, and the tower overlook, and the campground sits on higher ground away from the floodplain.
