About the Park
McKinney Falls sits inside Austin's city limits, where Onion Creek pours over two broad limestone ledges known as the Upper and Lower Falls. Around nine miles of trail wind through juniper and oak, past the Smith Rock Shelter and the ruins of Thomas McKinney's 1850s homestead and gristmill.
Campsites and cabins sit within a short drive of downtown, which makes it the easiest overnight in the area.
